Editorial/Publishing Assistant
Do you have a keen eye for detail and good communication and problem-solving skills? If so, Quarto Kids has an opportunity for you to join its creative team as an Editorial/Publishing Assistant. We are looking for a highly organised candidate, with excellent attention to detail, to come on board.
Quarto creates award-winning illustrated books for adults and children published across the globe. As an integral part of the Quarto Kids creative team, the Editorial/Publishing Assistant will play an essential role in smooth running of the administrative processes across all children’s imprints.

3 months fixed-term contract

Working hours
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09.30 am to 5.30 pm. We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model, with three days in our London office and two working from home.
Salary
Salary from £25,000 per year
About the role
As an Editorial/Publishing Assistant will play an essential role in smooth running of the administrative processes across all Quarto Kid’s imprints.
What you will be involved in:
- Proof reading
- Checking permissions
- Reading and reporting on submissions
- Writing cover briefs (under supervision)
- Progress chasing
- Inputting data into title management system
- Coding and processing payments
- Admin support for departmental meetings, launch meetings, book fairs and other events
About you
You’ll be a pro-active, highly organised person with good communication skills, an eye for detail and ability to prioritise and multitask. You will have experience in smooth running of admin processes, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
You will be able to show you can:
- Organise your own work effectively across multiple tasks
- Computer literacy of relevant applications/systems
- Problem solve and communicate proactively
- Teamwork
- Ability to work across a broad subject range as appropriate
